ELIJAH BLUE FESCUE GRASS is a small and compact ornamental grass.  This grass is a favorite among landscapers because of its small growing size and low maintenance habits.  The plant usually grows to about 8″ round but will sometimes get up to around a foot in size.  Elijah Blue Fescue Grass is commonly used as an accent plant to landscapes.  Most ornamental grass varieties become tall and spread too wide.  This grass, on the other hand, grows in a uniform cluster.

The blades of this grass plant are silverish blue.  Its distinct shape and color make it easy to spot in landscapes.  The blades of grass are very narrow and long.  This ornamental grass produces golden stems which contain seed pods for reproduction.  This perennial can be used in mass plantings or as a stand-alone plant.  If this plant is used in mass plantings, it works best when an adequate growing room is present.  It is essential to leave several inches between each plant, so it is still defined.
