May Night Salvia is a clump-forming perennial. The dark purple flower spikes shoot up in the summer. The stem of the flower shoot is dark red-purple. The small cup flowers protruding out from the stem are dark lavender. The flowers bloom all summer long and into the fall. This plant works well in border installations or as cut flowers. The perennial is deer resistant. May Night Salvia does require watering during extreme heat and drought.
