ROYAL CANDLES SPEEDWELL is a beautiful summer-flowering perennial.  The flowers of this perennial are deep purple-blue color.  Flowers of this plant grow on long, slender tubes.  Royal Candles Speedwell is a compact perennial that has flower shoots growing above the mounding foliage.  The flower tubes get their name because of the similar appearance of a fox tail.  This Speedwell variety is similar in growth appearance to Salvia.  The significant difference in the flower structure between the two varieties is Royal Candles Speedwell has denser flower tubes than Salvia.
